Dear Colleagues,

Below is information on submitting papers for the TOPSE Special Section.
There may soon be an option for direct submittal through a Web site, but
that is not yet implemented. In addition to submitting the paper to JGR
(note that the paper is sent to the AGU office in Washington), at the same
time, please send me one copy (electronic version preferred) so I can keep
track of the submittals; I will also post the manuscripts on the protected
area of the TOPSE Web site. It is my understanding that a short delay in
getting the papers to JGR for this special section does not eliminate the
manuscript from consideration. However, delays in review and revision may
jeopardize publication along with the rest of the papers.

Many thanks for all your hard work. I am looking forward to seeing all
the manuscripts in the very near future.

	Elliot

Instructions for manuscript submittal:

(From JGR, Atmospheres Editor)

At this point you can still submit papers in hardcopy form (at least two
double-spaced, single-sided copies) directly to the AGU Headquarters:

AGU
JGR-Atmospheres Editors
2000 Florida Ave., NW
Washington, D.C. 20009

phone: 202-462-6900

Each paper must include a cover letter indicating the special section it is
being submitted to, addresses and contact info. for five potential reviewers,
and GAP Index numbers (one primary and two secondary). You can access the GAP
index numbers at: http://www.agu.org/pubs/gaplist.html
You must include the GAP index numbers or the AGU staff cannot assign it to
the editor, and our office won't know that the paper exists! The AGU scans
the hardcopy and creates a pdf file that our office sends to reviewers. This
brings up the second option:

You can submit PDF files of your manuscript and cover letter directly to the
AGU:
submit to: jgr-atmospheres@agu.org

This is a nice option because your reviewers will receive the pdf file that
the author created instead of a scanned version.
